A Courtesy Visit to Kampong Speu Institute of Technology, Cambodia 8/12/2566 14:12:08 Chiang Rai Campus Chiang Rai Campus Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpho, the President of University of Phayao, led a delegation of 11 people, consisting of deans, directors, AP, and International Relations staff, to visit Kampong Speu Institute of Technology (KSIT), Cambodia, on December 8, 2023. The main purpose of the visit was twofold: 1) to listen to the feedback from UP alumni employers for future development of the related curriculum and 2) to seek for possible academic collaborations between the two institutions. Kampong Speu is an industrial province, near Phnom Penh. Like many other provinces in Cambodia, Kampong Speu needs human resource development. Thus, University of Phayao, since 2012, has offered the royal scholarships, under Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Education Project, to students from the Kingdom of Cambodia to study at University of Phayao. To date, 52 Cambodians students graduated from our university, and six of them are now working as lecturers at Kampong Speu Institute of Technology.Kampong Speu Institute of Technology, KSIT, is under the management of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports in O'Angkum village, Omlaing commune, Thpong district, Kampong Speu province. Currently, KSIT offers bachelor’s degree programs and associate degree programs in various fields such as Crop Science, Animal Science, Fisheries Science, Business Computers, Computer technology, Electrical installation, Mechanical technology, and Food Technology.
